Royal Society of Arts at Bedford College

Bedford College’s South Bank Arts Centre was the setting for a meeting of the Royal Society of Arts.

The event was staged to coincide with the End of Year art show by national award-winning student.

Bedford College staff and students have close links with many national organisations - but this was the first time a meeting had been held at the stylish South Bank Art Centre.

Bedford College South Bank Arts Centre - a lift off point for talent

Earlier the first local meeting of the RSA was held at the University of Bedfordshire Polhill Campus, attended by 17 Fellows and guests and our regional RSA manager Andy Kirk.

Director of the Arts at Bedford College Sue Blackman then invited the local group to meet at the South Bank Centre.

Among those in the the RSA circle is former Bedford College employee now local arts leader Kayte Judge. Kayte was among those who organised the very successful: We are Bedford Castle Quay Weekender Project.

Kayte and Co have now been awarded a second round of RSA catalyst seed funding - £5,000, to develop their  work further. This will form part of Bedford RSA activity.
